Two Homes. One Championship Legacy.

Two Homes. One Championship Legacy.

Hey everyone, Michael LaFido here! I’ve got some fun and nostalgic Wheaton - Warrenville South football history to share with you—and how it ties into two beautiful homes currently on the market right here in South Wheaton.

With the recent NFL draft still fresh on everyone’s mind, I thought it would be the perfect time to look back at our legendary seven-time state champion Wheaton, Warrenville South Tigers and spotlight two standout properties with deep Tiger football connections.

The first home is on Tomahawk Drive in the Arrowhead subdivision, listed at $650,000. This place is a real gem—set on a half-acre lot with four bedrooms, two and a half baths, and a stunning yard plus a three seasons room. But what really makes it special? It was the childhood home of Doug McLeod, the all-area defensive player and kicker who came up clutch for the Tigers, nailing not one, but two crucial field goals (after the first was called back!) to help secure our very first state championship win against Joliet Catholic. That moment truly started a dynasty, so this home carries a piece of WWS history!

Next, let’s talk about the second house, listed for $700,000 over on Plamondon and listed by Tisha Kaspari from Berkshire Hathaway. This property belonged to none other than Mr. Walker—the “super fan” everyone remembers from the stands in the ‘90s, leading cheers with his unmistakable “offense!” and “defense!” calls. He even started the tradition of putting handmade wooden football signs in front yards—complete with names and jersey numbers—something you’ll still see today. And who could forget the orange “Tigers” Christmas lights on his roof each fall? This home is a true piece of local football lore.

The spring real estate market in Wheaton is buzzing, with tons of interest and lots of activity. If you have any questions about these homes, want more history tidbits, or just need a second opinion on your real estate plans, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Wheaton, Warrenville South—football greatness lives on, not just in memories, but in the very homes where our champions and super fans once lived. Let’s make it a great day and celebrate the unique stories behind every front door!
