Does the approaching holiday season mean you should pull your home off the market or hold off on putting your home on the market until next spring? If you are currently selling your home, I recommend that you keep your home on the market during the slower months known as the “off-season” in real estate. Wayne Gretzky once said that “You miss 100% of the shots you don't take”. You'll miss 100% of the buyers that are actively looking during the fall and holidays if you don't have your home on the market during that time.

Real estate is all about supply and demand. There will definitely be less supply in the market now that school is well underway and the holidays are approaching. There are fewer buyers, but those buyers have fewer choices, so there’s a higher probability that they will pick your home with a stronger offer. That is why we recommend keeping your home on the market…or putting your home on the market now vs next spring when there will be a lot more homes for sale.
